ECO FIENDLY APPROACH

Our key aim with eco-design is to reduce the overall environmental impact to a minimum, through innovative design solutions that take into consideration the entire construction lifecycle. In this regard, we have opted for the construction of wooden villas.

Everywhere in the world the popularity of wooden houses is on the rise. Energy efficiency, healthy living environment, short construction time and affordable prices are important factors. Wood is also strong, durable, flexible and fire-proof, when treated accordingly.

A wooden house is warm, durable, and has character. Wood is a natural material which provides for eco-friendly, green and a low carbon footprint property. Timber is sustainable and one of the oldest building materials. Below are some of its major advantages:

Time-saving and Cost-effective

When compared to building materials like concrete, the life cycle of wood has a lower overall impact on the environment than its counterparts and as a result, also costs significantly less to produce.
Building wooden villas will save time since there will be no need to wait for materials to dry up before moving to the next step.
Wood is an easier material to handle during construction than concrete. Assembled woods are from the outset, load bearing and can be set straightaway.

The construction work can be rapidly completed as the very nature of the wood allows for easy cutting and rapid assembly of on-site of elements or sub-assemblies prefabricated in workshops.

Ensure a better finish for a luxurious villa: all pre-cut wooden elements will allow for high quality assemblies: rapid, immediate setting and clean design.

Healthy to live in

Wood has several advantages that help both the builder and the environment. Wooden homes are very healthy. The material has the unique ability to “breathe” and balance the indoor climate. Air passes through the wood grain, gets cleared, moisturized, and maintains comfortable temperature. Thus, the house always maintains a comfortable microclimate, which is especially important for kids and persons with different allergies.
It has been established that the warm and natural colour of wood positively influences one’s state of mind, soothes nervous system and creates friendly conditions for recreation.

Eco-friendly

A wooden house is always more ecological than a concrete house. The assembly process of a prefabricated wooden house is designed in a way that there is minimum or no impact to the surrounding flora and fauna. Manufacturing of wood products consumes 10 times less energy than production of other construction materials.

High heat storage capacity

A comfortable microclimate stays in wooden homes in a natural way. It is naturally warm in winter and cool in summers. Logs feature to accumulate excessive moisture and to return it, helps to keep the optimal room temperature. Wooden walls have high heat storage capacity. Wooden walls store warmth and gradually radiate it throughout the house. Therefore, wall surface´s temperature is similar to that of room´s temperature. This conditions comfort inside a house.

Most durable building material

Wooden homes built in accordance with our modern technologies are highly reliable and durable. Properly notched and maintained houses can stand for centuries. There are 200 years´ houses still standing in Mauritius.
No material has been able to match the unique characteristics of wood including strength, durability, and ease of use, natural thermal resistance, and stability. Wood is also outstanding for absorption and resistant of vibration. Wooden houses are suitable also for earthquake areas as very stable and strong constructions.

Timber structures of massive cross-section demonstrate very high fire resistance. When exposed to fire, wood surface becomes charred, which prevents the further development of fire.

Safer in the event of a fire

Yes, a wooden house is safer in the event of a fire, and yet it does burn. It is true that wood is a fuel and that following a fire, the place is easy to clean. Wood burns very slowly and therefore, even if the house burns completely, no toxic fumes will suffocate the occupants and they will have ample time to get out without risking their health.

Wood Is Biodegradable

One of the biggest challenges of many building materials, including concrete, metal, and plastics, is that when they are discarded, they take an impossibly long time to decompose. When exposed to natural climate conditions, wood will break down much more quickly and replenish the soil in the process.

Sound absorption

Wood’s acoustic properties make it ideal for minimizing echo in living or office spaces. Wood absorbs sound, rather than reflecting or amplifying it, and can help significantly reduce noise levels for additional comfort.
